Meeting on the bill “For a continuity of income for artists-authors”

Is the artist a worker like any other? It is 2025 and a large part of the work done by artists is still not, or poorly, paid, and they are often the only non-salaried actors in the exploitation chain of their own works. The arrival of artificial intelligence, the concentration of publishing groups and the reform of the RSA conditionality all represent risks of worsening the already endemic precariousness of artists-authors in all sectors. The urgency of a substantive reflection on the status and reforms that can be made is all the more urgent.
Central Vapeur and ICC (Info Conseil Culture) invite the collective La Buse to animate this meeting around the bill For a continuity of income of the artists which proposes a challenge to this status by introducing the possibility of a mechanism comparable to that of unemployment insurance for the intermittent performers. The opportunity to feed the debate and exchange around the economic system of art, the remuneration arrangements of its actors ices, their statutes, and meet the unions present in Strasbourg.
